Occupation: Chiropractic Assistant at Eden Chiropractic and UNCG Student
When did you start CrossFit?: December 2014
Favorite WOD: Love them all!
Least Favorite WOD: Anything involving thrusters!
Tell us about your sports and fitness background: I played softball for about 15 years, starting from t-ball working all the way up to showcase fast-pitch. I also played volleyball in middle school, high school, travel and one year at RCC. I swam for three years in high school and continue to play sports along with my CrossFit training.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? My awesome boyfriend, Christopher Fisher, was always going to "CrossFit" and I finally decided to see what it was all about. I don't remember exactly what my first WOD consisted of but I do remember going into the workout thinking I was in shape, then the workout kicked my butt!
What sort of changes have you seen in you body, health, and fitness since starting CF? I have always been fit but never in this great of shape! My body has become stronger physically and mentally since I started CrossFit. I have lost body fat and increased my muscle mass, my cardiovascular endurance has also improved.
Any advice for people just getting started? CrossFit definitely pushes your limits and finds your weak spots which will only make you want to get better! If you are competitive it will bring it out of you, if you are doing it just to stay or become fit you will definitely become physically and mentally fit, but remember what you put into it is what you will get out of it. My advice is to never stop! If you reach one goal, set new ones!
