When did you first start Crossfitting? October 24,2013
Favorite WOD: Grace
Least Favorite WOD: Anything with thrusters
Tell us about your sports and fitness background. I have always been active with
outdoor hobbies and I played football in high school. I did a little weightlifting at a
local gym until I found CrossFit.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? I used to go the gym a few times a week,
but felt myself getting bored with the same routine. I was flipping through the TV
channels one day and saw the CrossFit Games; instantly, I was hooked. I began
searching around for a local box. On my first day I was extremely nervous, mainly
because of all the new faces. However, the coaches and members were all very
friendly and helpful. I don’t remember the name of my first WOD but it involved
wall balls…my legs felt like jello and I could barely walk. I remember stumbling to
my car in the parking lot, but as bad as it felt physically, I felt great mentally. There
was no way I could turn back, I was addicted.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF?
I have seen a huge change in my body. I am in much better shape and a lot more
active. Before, I did the same routine at the gym and only focused on certain areas.
CrossFit has made me stronger in all areas. I had always thought I was in great
shape before CrossFit, but boy did I have a rude awakening. I have stuck with it and
I am very happy with my results, however I am not where I want to be YET. I can
honestly say I wouldn’t be where I am now physically if it wasn’t for my CrossFit
Any advice for people just getting started? Be patient and ask questions. Everyone
here was once in the same shoes, starting out. All the coaches and fellow athletes
are very helpful, stick with it and be proud to call yourself a CrossFit athlete and a
member of the CrossFit Eden family.
