Tell us about your sports and fitness background: I was involved in a variety of sports throughout childhood, but as I grew older I focused most of my attention on basketball. I played AAU basketball for about 8 years.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? I was working at a YMCA and a coworker always came in talking about it. He kept encouraging me to come, but I shrugged it off for a long time until finally agreeing to give it a try. Looking back, I wish I would have started much sooner.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CF? I’ve become stronger, increased my endurance, and have overall improved my fitness. I believe this is the best program out there. CrossFit has made me a well rounded athlete.
Any advice for people just getting started? Work hard. Be consistent. Discipline yourself. You will want to quit, so keep your eyes on the prize at the end and remember that it is making you better. I firmly believe that if you start CrossFit, you are going to get into the best shape of your life. Period. Also remember that you are surrounded by people that absolutely desire to see you succeed. Embrace them. You can’t do this thing alone.
